2027 public holiday calendar
South Africa has 12 named public holidays. Because two fall on Sundays in 2027, the calendar also includes the two following Mondays as public holiday dates.

How the Sunday public holiday rule works
The Public Holidays Act provides that when a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is also a public holiday. In 2027 this applies to Human Rights Day on 21 March and Day of Goodwill on 26 December.
LeaveLekker stores the original Sunday and the observed Monday separately so the optimiser does not accidentally suggest booking annual leave on either date.
