Why 2027 is a good year to plan early
Human Rights Day falls on Sunday 21 March, so Monday 22 March is also a public holiday. Good Friday and Family Day then fall on 26 and 29 March, creating an unusually strong March cluster for a longer break.
Heritage Day falls on a Friday, and Day of Goodwill falls on Sunday 26 December, making Monday 27 December a public holiday under the Sunday rule.
What counts as “days away”?
The result is the total length of the continuous non-working periods created around the leave dates you book. It includes the weekends and public holidays inside each selected break; it does not present every ordinary weekend in the year as bonus leave.
